With today’s Midjourney prompt we are going to get a little wet, creating pictures of people in the rain.
About Rain
1. The rainiest inhabited place on Earth is the village of Mawsynram in Meghalaya, India. It receives an astonishing average annual rainfall of about 11,871 millimeters (467.4 inches), making it one of the wettest places on the planet.
2. The record for the most rain to fall in a single minute belongs to Barst, Guadeloupe, an island in the Caribbean. On November 26, 1970, an astounding 1.5 inches (38.1 millimeters) of rain poured down in just 60 seconds.
3. In the Atacama Desert of Chile, known as one of the driest places on Earth (non-polar), rain is a rare occurrence. Some areas within the desert have gone without rain for decades. In fact, some weather stations in the region have never recorded any rainfall.
4. Rainfall can be so extreme and unusual that it can result in unique phenomena like "blood rain" or "red rain." This occurs when rainwater carries suspended dust particles or algae, giving the rain a reddish appearance.
5. Rainfall can also occur on other planets and moons in our solar system. For example, scientists have observed rain on Saturn's moon Titan, where methane and ethane rain down from the atmosphere, forming lakes and rivers.
6. In some cases, rainfall can be influenced by human activities. The phenomenon known as "anthropogenic rain" occurs when human-made pollutants, such as aerosols and air pollution, alter cloud formation and precipitation patterns.
7. Rain shadows are fascinating meteorological phenomena that occur when one side of a mountain range receives heavy rainfall, while the other side remains relatively dry. This happens because the air is forced to rise over the mountains, cooling and releasing its moisture, creating rain on the windward side and leaving the leeward side in a rain shadow.
8. Rain has been used as a form of therapy in some cultures. "Rain therapy" involves spending time outdoors during a gentle rain shower, which is believed to have a soothing and calming effect on the mind and body.
